With yoga everyday our safari and beach yoga holiday is one you will never forget.

We are so excited to be able to offer you this bucket-list adventure, a 9 night Safari and beach yoga holiday in Kenya.

If you are going to experience a safari yoga holiday, Kenya is one of the best countries in Africa to see the Big 5, that is, African buffalo, Lion, Leopard, rhino, elephant, as well as Cheetah and many more. Your kenya yoga holiday in October will start when you arrive at Mombasa airport and stay one night in a beachfront hotel so you can rest before the adventure begins. The next day, you will head to Tsavo Game Park in the southeast corner of Kenya. Tsavo is Kenya’s largest game park and is split into Tsavo East and Tsavo West and the abundance of wildlife is breathtaking as well as the expansiveness of wilderness, it is truly awe-inspiring to witness.

While staying at your tented camp in Tsavo East for two nights on your 9-night safari yoga retreat in Kenya, you will experience a game drive each day. This game park is known for its flat and arid lands with lake lands and it is well known for its red elephants because the herds bathe in the red mud. It is the oldest game park in Kenya. This tented camp has a watering hole where animals congregate to drink and bathe. It is an amazing experience to be able to sit and watch this whilst eating lunch or practising yoga.

Next stop on your Kenya safari yoga retreat: Tsavo West. You will move to a tented camp and spend two nights there, enjoying a game drive each day in this expansive land. This area is more mountainous and greener, so you can enjoy the scenery as well as diverse wildlife. If you want a massage, there is a wellness spa with massage and a swimming pool to relax around.

Yoga will be practised once a day, either morning or evening, depending on the schedule. It will be an amazing experience to practice yoga in the savannah and plains with animals all around. Breathing in the earth of this sacred land, you will feel a true connection with Africa.

Next, you will be transported to the beach for your beach yoga holiday in Kenya! Diani Beach will be your home for 4 nights, staying in a beachfront boutique hotel. There are four private rooms with en-suite bathrooms with a balcony overlooking the gardens and two twin rooms. There is a swimming pool that overlooks the Indian Ocean and a white sand beach, so you can choose where to relax in your downtime. Your meals on your beach yoga retreat in Kenya will be in the hotel’s beachfront restaurant and you can choose what you like from the menu for each meal. The award-winning boutique resort has long been recognised for its continued commitment to the environment and its sustainable operation that supports the unique surroundings of the resort.

Here, you can relax during the day. If you want more adventure, there is Shimba Hills to experience another game park. You can also try any watersport: kite or windsurfing, SUP, kayaking, or diving. The watersports equipment (paddleboards, kayaks, surfboards, and more) is free for you to use. Enjoy a Dow boat trip to a marine national park to snorkel and much more!

Have you always wanted to experience a safari and beach yoga holiday in Kenya but are nervous about travelling solo? We welcome solo travellers, friends, families, and everyone! There are so many joys about travelling solo, so don’t be afraid—go for it!

You can travel to Kenya at any time of the year. We love to go on our Kenya yoga retreat in October when it is just after the rainy season and cooler and greener. Join us in 2025 in October on our Kenya yoga holiday for a safari and beach adventure of a lifetime in East Africa. Are you in?

Sustainability

We are working towards reducing our carbon footprint, and here are some ways we, as a company, are doing this.

We are a 88% vegan company, 10% vegetarian and 2% fish or meat (only when staying in boutique hotels that offer these options). This makes up a huge percentage of carbon emissions that we avoid so easily because our food is still delicious, balanced and even more creative. So, thanks to you all for enjoying our healthy (mostly) plant-based meals.

The difference: Most travel companies struggle to reduce their travellers’ meat and dairy consumption, which accounts for a large portion of their carbon emissions.

We stay primarily in one location for the duration of the retreat. We have started staying in a few locations on our long haul, but it is limited to 2 or 3 locations over an 8 – 10 night period. Staying in one place means low carbon emissions because we aren’t burning fuel to get around.

The difference: Other adventure travel companies move around every two days, using alot of petrol in vehicles for sometimes only 1 or 2 people.

Our activities are low-impact—yoga, hiking, surfing, skiing/boarding, whitewater rafting, SUP, and kayaking are all very low-carbon activities, in fact, zero-carbon (except skiing/snowboarding due to the ski lifts, which is also low). These activities are included in the price we measure. The carbon may increase with travel to and from these activities in vehicles.

The difference: Other travel companies can include high-carbon activities in the price, such as jet skiing, quad biking, and jeep driving, which increases their carbon footprint.

We run more than half of our retreats and holidays in the UK; these are very low-carbon holidays.

We currently don’t measure our guests’ travel as part of our carbon output because our guests don’t only come from the UK, so it is hard for us to predict this. We also don’t include travel in the holiday price, which is not part of our calculations. We know that we provide these holidays, so we are looking to include this carbon measurement in the future so we are investigating how we can reduce this.

The carbon measurements at the top of the page with the icons are per person for the whole retreat.

Ultra-low-carbon holidays

These holidays are below 200 kg per person, and our UK retreats are below 100 or even 70 kg, so these are great adventures for low carbon breaks.

Ski holidays are actually low in carbon!

In France, many ski resorts are turning to green energy to power the lifts. If you eat low in meat and dairy while you’re there and hire your ski equipment, this makes your trip as low-carbon as possible.

How can you help?

There are ways that you can help reduce your carbon when coming on our retreats and holidays:

Travel by train, try slow travel across Europe and the UK.
If travelling abroad to Europe or further afield, choose carbon capture schemes, check out Ecologi. Offsetting is not the best thing to do these days, but try carbon capture where you pay for carbon to be absorbed into the environment.
Car share UK – we recommend when guests travel by train to arrive and depart at the same time to taxi share – which helps keep costs and carbon emissions down. Why not consider car share, too? Most guests who drive come alone or with a friend; we have WhatsApp groups that, if you like, you can see who is driving from your area and enjoy getting to know each other on the way to the retreats, and save on your carbon emissions at the same time!

We are by no means saints when it comes to producing carbon, as a travel company we know this is very difficult to reduce. We are working to reduce our carbon output each year by measuring it and then creating plans to reduce it. We are reviewing all our venues and asking them how they can improve their carbon reduction as we don’t own any of our venues but we would like to work with them to help in any way we can. We want to be transparent with this, so please get in touch for more information. As we change things, we will update the website.

You need a visa to enter Kenya. You cannot enter the country without the visa so please arrange pre travel. Please visit the official Kenyan e-visa website (https://www.ecitizen.go.ke/) for the latest visa application details.
Currency Exchange: During your retreat, you will need two types of currency: US Dollars (USD) for transactions at the retreat centre, and Kenyan Shillings (KES) for small purchases, local excursions, and interactions with the local community. Please note that the cost of transfers and food is included, so the money you bring should primary be to cover any personal expenses, gifts or additional activities, outside the planned itinerary.
Please Notify Us: Our remote destination means that food needs to be pre-organized and ordered in advance. To accommodate your dietary preferences and restrictions, please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies you may have as soon as possible. And finally, if you have not done so already, could you please complete your check-ins, on your customer portal, so we have all your flight details and can arrange transfers.
Vaccinations: Yellow Fever: A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into Kenya. Ensure you have this vaccination at least 10 days before your trip.

Other Vaccinations: While not mandatory, it's advisable to be up-to-date on routine vaccinations like measles, mumps, rubella, and hepatitis A and B.

Malaria Prevention: Malaria Tablets: Kenya is a malaria-endemic area. We strongly recommend that you bring and take malaria prophylaxis throughout your stay. Please consult your healthcare provider for suitable options.
We are a veggie/vegan company and we have requested these meals in the safari park lodges and on the beach. In the safari lodges, they are not as used to vegan diets as the West, and the chefs are local Kenyans and the Kenyan diet is mostly a meat based diet. We have requested a vegan/vegetarian menu but it might not be as creative as our UK retreat chefs. At each game park lodge there is a vegan/veggie and meat option for you to choose from. The beach hotel has a vast menu and can cater for all dietary needs.
Yes it is safe, as you will have qualified game park rangers with you at all times. It is instead a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed!
This is up to you and how many gifts or Kenyan artefacts you would like to buy. There is tipping etiquette on the safari, so please allow $20 per day whilst on safari. Other than that you don't need much money except for alcohol or soft drinks throughout the day so you can bring a small budget to spend if you prefer.
On this yoga holiday you do.
The wifi at the game parks is patchy and only accessible in the communal areas. It is better at the beach.
- It is important to be comfortable as you are in a vehicle for a few hours whilst looking for wildlife. It's best to pack loose thin trousers / joggers / yoga pants or comfortable shorts. The morning game drives can start off a little chilly so pack a light jumper or a shawl.
- A hat to protect from the sun, t-shirts, long-sleeved tops and trousers for the evenings to protect against mosquitoes.
- Trainers for the safari section of the holiday.
- Flip flops for the beach!
- Suncream, sunglasses
- Pack a backpack for packed lunches or drinks and easy access whilst travelling.
- A good book or three.
- A water bottle but you can't drink the tap water but may be able to access water from the tented camps in the game park.
- A beach bag/ back pack
- Bring a light shawl for evenings at the beach and for cover in savasana in the evening.
- Mosquito spray and malaria prescription
- A good camera for the safari!
Yes, it is absolutely safe for both passengers and luggage.
Spotting specific animals cannot be guaranteed as the animals are in their natural habitat, however, safari itineraries are designed to bring out the best opportunities for viewing.
Yes you do. Please remember that there is tipping etiquette in Kenya. Our safari tour operator suggests a tipping rate of £15/$20pp per day whilst on Safari, and please also remember to tip at our venues and restaurants, to support the local communities

Beautiful Kenya

We are so excited to be able to offer you a Kenya yoga retreat. A land that is so rich in history, culture, wildlife and wilderness becomes the perfect setting for a once in a lifetime adventure and yoga retreat.

Situated in East Africa with the Indian Ocean furthest east it is a vast expanse of land and one holiday can only cover a small percentage of what there is to see and do there.

If you fly into Nairobi before your Kenya yoga retreat, you open the door to enchanting destinations. From the majestic Mount Kenya and the captivating Samburu game park to the iconic Masai Mara, the scenic Lake Naivasha, and the mesmerising Lake Nakuru, the possibilities are endless. Nairobi itself is a treasure trove, with its own National Game Park, right in the city! For wildlife enthusiasts, an animal orphanage awaits, featuring adorable baby elephants, giraffes, rhinos, and more in need of care. You can also visit the Karen area, immortalised in the film ‘Out of Africa,’ invites you to explore Karen Blixen’s house, a cinematic and historical gem.

Mount Kenya is home to the highlands and tea plantations, offering hiking opportunities for the adventurous spirit. A trip to Lake Naivasha promises a spectacle of thousands of flamingos, a truly incredible experience.

Should you fly to Mombasa before joining us on our Kenya yoga retreat, you are closer to game parks like Tsavo East and West, as well as the renowned Amboseli, famous for its many African elephants and the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro bordering Tanzania. The allure extends beyond wildlife to the pristine white sandy beaches and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean, with beach resorts like Diani Beach, Malindi, and Watamu offering a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. For those seeking a more remote paradise, the Island of Lamu in the north is a worthy escape.

In most game parks, you’re in for a treat as you may spot the Big 5 – Lion, Leopard, African buffalo, elephant, as well as rhino, gazelle, warthogs and hyenas to name a few. The magic of sunrise and sunset game drives reveals the animals at their most active, creating unforgettable scenes such as cheetahs stalking prey or lionesses nurturing their cubs. Plus, you have the experience of practicing yoga whilst on safari.

Kenya’s diverse landscape, encompassing savannahs, plains, the Great Rift Valley, lakelands, lowlands, highlands, beaches, and oceans, is complemented by the fascinating tribal areas of Masai Mara and Samburu. The idea of a yoga retreat in Kenya becomes the perfect culmination of natural beauty, cultural richness, and holistic well-being. Consider a yoga retreat in Mombasa or delve into the transformative experience of a yoga retreat in Kenya – a harmonious union of rejuvenation and exploration.

About the yoga

About the Food

To start, on your safari beach yoga holiday Kenya, all meals are included.

At the game parks, the food is buffet-style and includes a choice of vegan or vegetarian options and meat if you are a meat eater. If you have specific dietary needs, let us know so we can arrange with the game parks in advance, and they will do their best to accommodate them. The chefs are African, so although there may be vegan options, they won’t be as advanced as the West.

On the beach at the boutique hotel, you will dine in their beachfront restaurant for all meals. Enjoy breakfast with coffee, tea, juice, fruit, a choice of eggs, a warm breakfast, yoghurts, and granola. Lunch can be a 3-course meal if you choose, as well as dinner because you can choose anything off their extensive menu. There is a choice of meat, fish, vegan, and vegetarian.  Again, let us know of any specific dietary needs so we can do our best to accommodate.

Water is in your rooms in the safari camps and in the boutique hotel. Drinks at meal times are extra.
