Join us in Wales, in the county of Breconshire where the rugged Welsh landscape of the Brecon Beacons inspires and takes your breath away each visit.

If you love to be in the Welsh countryside, surrounded by rolling hills, rivers, streams, nature and peace and quiet this is the right yoga retreat for you. With the closest town being Hay-On-Wye, you are in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park. You can choose to be as active or relaxed as you like on this yoga retreat, enjoy the free guided hike and then enjoy the grounds of the retreat to relax.

For those who want even more, Brecon Beacons activity holidays offer a variety of activities to choose from, like canoeing down the River Wye, horse riding or wandering into Hay-On-Wye as it is only 10 minutes away and exploring the infamous book shops and cafes.

Reviews

"This was the first retreat I’ve ever done, and was a little nervous when booking it, but I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to make me feel immediately welcome and part of the group.

Everything about the retreat was fantastic, the brecon beacon location was beautiful, the accommodation was brilliant and the rooms were comfortable and immaculate. Harriet’s yoga sessions were a perfect mix of challenging and rewarding, and she was able to adjust the poses for the different ability levels of the group, so everyone left the sessions feeling energised. Our chef, Hayley, was incredible, preparing delicious food for everyone, including vegan dishes for myself, that blew us all away.

The best thing though was the people. From the first day, it was so natural and easy to talk to everybody, the whole group was warm and friendly and I couldn’t have asked to spend the week with a more funny, sweet and caring group.

I will 100% be doing another retreat in the future. Thank you Adventure Yogi!"

"An amazing experience. The food provided by our chef was all really healthy and incredibly tasty. Our yoga teacher delivered outstanding classes every morning and evening, creating a perfect balance of challenging practice and ultimate relaxation. There was time to relax in nature with a good book which added to the peaceful experience."

"This was my first Yoga / Hiking retreat, so I wasn’t too sure what to expect. But Adventure Yogi made me feel relaxed from the start. Corrina (yoga instructor) was amazing, I came away with a lot of new knowledge, especially from trying three different types of yoga. The hiking company were brilliant and knowledgeable of the area. Chloe cooked such amazing food, I have now changed my diet.
They adapted to the heat wave with a moment's notice, with no complications or reduction in the experience. Thank you, can’t wait for my next adventure with you. Finally, thank everyone in the group for making me most feel welcome."

"The New Year Brecon Beacons retreat was my very first yoga retreat and was an amazing experience from start to finish! Wonderful location and accommodation. We had an amazing teacher and I particularly enjoyed the amount of time spent in the Yoga studio. The mix of yoga, hiking and relaxing time reading by the fire was great. I left feeling well rested and nourished!"

"Just returned from a wonderful retreat in the Brecon Beacons with AY. It's the first yoga retreat I've done and has definitely encouraged me to do more. I really liked the yoga sessions - a mix of vinyasa, restorative and yin yoga. The hike was beautiful with great guides and the bookshops of Hay-on-Wye only a ten-minute drive away. The food was also so good! It really opened my eyes to how delicious vegan food can be. I met so many lovely people the team were great hosts and helped us feel at home from the beginning."

FAQ's for the Brecon Beacons

Where is the nearest train station?

The nearest train station is Hereford which is 35 minutes drive away. You can find out about travel if you go to the retreat date page on our website and scroll down to the 'how to get there' section.

Are there hairdryers at the venue?

There are a few hairdryers but we recommend bringing one with you if you.

How long are the hikes and what level are they?

The hikes usually start around 11am and finish around 4pm, group level permitting. The level of these hikes is intermediate. If you are new to hiking we suggest getting out there and building up strength before joining us.

Do I need hiking boots and all weather gear?

A big fat yes! Hiking boots are essential and not brand new ones...wear them first before embarking on a long hike. Bring a backpack to carry wet weather gear, a jacket and trousers and have a few different length layers on so you can cool down and warm up quickly.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

This venue is not a designated yoga venue so we ask that you bring your own mat and equipment if you use anything else. A blanket is always highly recommended for savasana to enjoy it all the more.
