Have a change of scene this winter and stay in comfort at our Lake District yoga retreat venue and get out in nature and enjoy hiking and visiting the beautiful Lakes. Yoga twice a day and vegan food.

For a winter escape come and experience a hiking and yoga retreat in the Lake District. Stay in a cosy veggie B&B and relax in your room or by the fire. It’s a peaceful time to come to the Lake District when so much of nature is in hibernation. Time to get out into nature and connect at this time of year too.  It is one of our favourite times of the year to visit as the crowds are gone and it takes on a slower pace of life.

With our qualified and very experienced mountain guides on hand to lead the day hike, and your yoga teachers to lead a more gentle yet equally as stunning walk to Tarn Howes directly from our retreat centre, immerse yourself in nature and feel the benefits of this, being away from the frenetic and urban landscape of your day to day living.  Take a packed lunch and just sit and watch the world go by, or enjoy a bit of forest bathing and meditation.

Start the day with an energising yoga class and after a day’s excursions, unwind with evening yin and yoga Nidra followed by a vegan and vegetarian feast.

Hike Level: Our retreats in the Lake District are for an intermediate level for hikes. There are hills, and steep inclines and they are long in duration.

TRAVEL INSURANCE: Please buy a travel insurance policy that works for you for any unforeseen circumstances and with a covid policy.

A twin/double room is for two people sharing either two single beds or a double bed.

Itinerary

The hikes on this hiking yoga retreat are intermediate level. If you are an inexperienced hiker we recommend practising before coming on this retreat or choosing our Peak District retreats where the hiking is accessible for beginner hikers.

Your hiking yoga retreat starts from 4pm and on the last day departure time is at 11am

The two full days of the retreat follow the daily schedule opposite.

8am - 9.30am
Morning yoga and meditation class to warm up the body ready for the hike

9.45am
Brunch of healthy energy boosting breakfast foods, porridge, eggs

10.30am - 4pm
First day: Let's go hiking with qualified mountain guides

10.30am - 4pm
Second Day: Guided walk to Tarn Howes with yoga teacher or enjoy something else in the Lake District

5.30pm - 7.30pm
Evening yoga, meditation and Yoga Nidra class

7.45pm
Delicious hearty and wholesome 2 course evening meal

About the yoga

Our classes for our winter hiking yoga retreat in Lake District are really special, with natural light coming into the purpose-built, high-ceiling yoga shala overlooking the mountains.

There will be a more dynamic class in the morning to get you ready for the day’s hike and the evening class will be slightly longer to enable deep relaxation with yoga nidra.

About the food

The food on this winter Lake District yoga retreat is catered to you by the venue. The venue owner is a vegan/vegetarian chef and they source organic and locally sourced ingredients. The breakfast is pre-ordered and is a choice of cereals or porridge, a choice of eggs and hot cooked breakfast, juice, coffee, tea and herbal teas.

Lunch is a packed lunch to take with you on your hikes each day.

Dinner is a 2-course dinner inspired by different countries, created by the chef and all diets are welcome please let us know beforehand.

Suitability

This winter hiking yoga retreat Lake District is suitable for those who love more dramatic countryside experience, love hiking or being active. If you have never been hiking before that's ok, but just bring suitable clothing and be prepared to be active! Men and women are welcome as well as solo travellers, couples, and friends.
