The origins of AdventureYogi began in 2007 amongst the snow capped French Alps.
Three friends, mutual aficionados of outdoor adventures and holistic therapies, took a leap of faith in order create holidays that would restore and transform their guests. With a background in massage therapy, acupuncture, ayurvedic healing and yoga, the trio were well equipped to merge their skills and create adventures unique to the travel and wellbeing industries.
Over a decade on, Michelle King has taken the reigns and shaped the offering, ensuring yoga is the beating heart of each adventure, complemented by healthy food, experiential travel and the nurturing sense of community within a group of like minded people.
As a team, we share a core belief that retreating from normal routines, even for a short while can be extremely therapeutic for the body and soul. Our yoga practices are centred around connecting breath to movement and inviting a sense of playfulness into the body. Combined with outdoor activities and massage, our retreats can be a powerful catalyst for inner and outer transformation.
We work with a small network of highly experienced teachers, all of which specialise in specific areas of yoga and alternative therapies. As your hosts for the retreat, you’re sure to be well looked after throughout your time away
Our talented Chefs work hard to develop healthy, vegetarian menus that ensure each mealtime is something to look forward to. Chosen for their hosting skills as well as their culinary prowess, if guests fancy getting busy in the kitchen, the more the merrier!
Travelling responsibly is a growing concern amongst both travellers and those working in the industry.
Luckily, there are plenty of positive changes we can make to the way we travel to ensure as little impact on the destinations and ecosystem as possible. At AdventureYogi we aim to use local accommodation rather than large-scale hotels to ensure money is fed back into the community, as well as taking local transport wherever possible.
Our meals are cooked from local and where possible organic produce which supports independent farmers. We encourage guests to reuse towels and to share transfers wherever possible to reduce water use and carbon emissions, and recycle waste in each retreat destination.
We’re passionate that our retreats should make a positive impact both on our guests and the locations we choose to hold them, and if you have any further questions about the steps we take to do this then please get in touch.
